The coronavirus outbreak has jolted the world out of everything else. As James Bond’s last outing pushes its release date on fan’s demands, Bollywood is too feeling the pressure somewhere. In order to not dent their box-office numbers, Rohit Shetty is currently in discussions with Reliance Entertainment- producer of not just Shetty’s Sooryanvanshi starring Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh but also Kabir Khan’s ’83, at the filmmaker’s Andheri West office.
The reason for their meeting is to finalise the release date of both the films, amidst the Coronavirus scare. Sooryavanshi is slated to release on March 27 while ‘83 plans to hit theaters on April 10.
A couple of small meetings in this regard also took place over the weekend but this seems to be the final meeting to decide whether Reliance Entertainment and the respective teams of the films want to go ahead with the original release date.
“Everyone is extremely confused about it, actually. No unanimous decision has been achieved yet. The ratio is a 70:30, with 70 percent wanting the delay and remaining 30 against it,” a source informs a media outlet.
“The makers and producers don’t want to take a chance with such big films as so much of money is riding on both of them. The Coronavirus scare will surely dampen the buzz,” concluded the source.
